CHRISTMAS ANNUAL OPEN STUDIO 12-13th of Dec 10am-5pm
Ciao everyone hope you’ve had a great summer. I’m having my annual Christmas open studio on Dec 12-13th from 10am-5pm and would love for you to come by and have a look at my new work. Still working on the new Italian color icon series that I’m proud of, but it’s taking longer then I thought. The Italians are giving me trouble again.
I also have smaller pieces to view and of course my Pinocchio Christmas cards. For those of you who may remember some of the painted wooden art pieces with Nonnas that I created for Black Skirt Restaurant, they are now available to purchase.
Nonna’s with a side of espresso.
At any rate please come by and have a pre-Christmas drink with me, it would be great to catch up.

thank you to everyone that came to have a Christmas cheers with me and have a gander at the new art work, always happy to show and get feed back, it’s a big reason for doing it in the first place, all an artist wants is to have his work recognized and appreciated and thank you to those who actually took the plunge and bought a piece, very grateful and honored, till next time, happy holiday’s to you and your families…francesco

pinocchio christmas cards
Every Christmas time I take out my black ink pen and my moss green watercolor and start the individual illustrations of
Pinocchio, the one I prefer is the original character that was illustraded by a Tuscan name Enrico Mazzanti (example up top) in the “Le avventure di Pinocchio. Storia di un burattino by Carlos Collodi, published first 1883.
I love that old world feel, where I sit quietly with music and like a turn of the century hand printer I illustrate and watercolor each one carefully and with care, It’s such a meditation to be in that space for such a long time. My illustration of Pinocchio is a slight variation on Mazzanti’s Pinocchio but still of that time, I hope you enjoy them and that I see you soon, stay well…
